MEDIHONEY® ANTIMICROBIAL HCS Dressings 6cm x 6cm

INDICATIONS

• You can change dressings easier as the honey doesn't stick to the wound. (No more searing pain for you - less disturbing of new tissue growth - very important!)


• Reduces the smell that comes from wounds and ulcers, much more pleasant for yourself and those around you.


• Reduces scarring of your skin.
  
  A 15-year-old female patient developed severe right-sided facial cellulitis with vesicular and ulcerative lesions measuring 8cm x 8cm with a depth ranging from 0.1cm to 0.3cm. The wound bed comprised 100% slough or hyperpigmented eschar.
  There were multiple full-thickness and partial-thickness open wounds scattered over the right side of face with oedema and erythema. Tests revealed no clear aetiology to explain the infection.

  1: Before application

  This is a pack of 10 individual dressings.

  Each dressing measures 6cm x 6cm (2.4in x 2.4in) and is in an individual sealed wrapper, maintaining its sterile status.

• Leg Ulcers (venous, arterial and mixed aetiology ulcers)
• Pressure Ulcers
• 1st and 2nd degree burns
• Donor sites
• Traumatic Wounds
• Surgical and post op wounds

• Suitable for neonatal and paediatric patients

When it comes to wounds, whether leg ulcers, surgical wounds or other, for topical application it is important to use a proper medical grade manuka honey.

Importantly this has been produced, tested and verified to a different and stricter standard than the jars of honey. 

Not only does this ensure the honey does contain the appropriate extra antibacterial properties, but that it has been sterilised too.

Medical grade honey has also been through a finer filtering process, eg taking out smaller pollen granules and other things that could potentially disturb a wound.

Did you know?

- Comvita have their own specialist apiary (beekeeping unit) for producing their medical grade manuka honey. This supplies for both the Comvita Manukacare and Medihoney dressing products. Thus the complete process can be better controlled from the cleanliness of the beehives right through to the product you are applying to your wound.

Depending on the size of the wound you are applying to, cut each dressing into half or quarters (or as suits your case) in order to get more uses from each dressing.

For leg ulcers Medihoney HCS Dressings are able to be used in conjunction with compression bandaging.
